I installed this on my 2020 Tesla Model 3. Tracing the wires was impossible. not bad. After unplugging the tail light, I checked the small holes with a small wire and my electrometer. I couldn't find a good switched 12v supply so I used a constant 12v supply under the back seat. I installed a lighted switch above the carpet in the trunk so I could manually turn the lighting set on and off. I'm in the back of the car, plugging in the trailer, it's not that hard to flip the switch. Removing the rear bumper cover from a Tesla Model 3 is no small feat. The whole installation takes quite a bit of time, but it is not very difficult. Etrailer.com sells a similar set and has a pretty good video.
