BIG TRASH! on Test, Measure & Inspect

THIS IS NOT A GENUINE K-TYPE COMPATIBLE PLUG. It is NOT made of Alumel and Chromel, the metals used in K-type thermocouple wires. GENUINE plug MADE from CH and AL. Usually plugs are stamped AL and CH on the exposed part of the pins. Nests are also referred to as CH and AL. On the sockets it's printed somewhere on yellow plastic along with "+" and "-" to indicate polarity. AL MAGNETIC, CH NO. If both metal parts of your connector ARE magnetic OR both are NOT magnetic, that's another way of saying your connector is NOT a TRUE K-connector. The wires and connector also turn this into a thermocouple as the alumel connects to OTHER metal and chromel connects to OTHER metal. whatever metal it is.! Very nice ad. They CALL it a K-Type but DO NOT tell you it was made from the wrong metals and is therefore NOT compliant! NEVER, EVER, EVER buy if you want accurate readings from a real thermocouple. EXAMPLES: Scenario A: TC Chromel and Alumel ---> Counterfeit Plug ---> Gauge. In this configuration, both the TC and the IN THE FORK connections are also T-connections. The in-socket connection is where it should be. Scenario B: TC Chromel and Alumel ---> Fake Plug ---> Fake Plug ---> Type K Cable ---> Fake Plug ---> Gauge In this configuration, which uses an extension cord, the TC , Connections IN THE PLUG AND again In the socket of the first set of plugs/socket AND ALL ALL T-connections! Heating or cooling any of these will change your readings! IF they were all REAL plugs and connectors the ONLY places affected by temperature would be the T-pair weld (sensor) and test equipment JACK and NOTHING else. Sweet, how can they conveniently omit that fact and still call it K-type no?

Pros
  • Scope of delivery: 10 pcs. x thermocouple connector; Main Color: Yellow, Silver Tone; Battery included: No
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
