Review on Dee Zee DZ16319 Mounting Bracket by David Citizen

I ordered these with Dee Zee 16321 NXt footpeg step. To install on my new 2018 GMC Canyon. Yes, all parts work and look very nice once fitted. But they should actually fulfill a function and not just attract attention visually. Once installed, they are at a height close to the height of the door sill, making them useless as a real footrest. I've had a lot of trucks and a lot of footpegs, all had a good step change from floor to step and step to truck. Not this one. The instructions say you can adjust it up/down, but you never do that with the hardware that comes with it. Although the top mount is about a 3/4 inch vertical slip adjustment, the bottom mount is fixed and the carriage is unusable once installed. It would be possible to flush or thread the bottom and use a slip section on the longer bolts, but then you'll have to buy washers or make room to run along with the longer bottom bolts. Even with that, the differential wouldn't do it in my opinion work I contacted the manufacturer to see if they offer a mount kit that is about 1.5 to 2 inches longer. I hope so, otherwise I threw away a pretty penny at around $375.
