I thought I would actually get the same one as before but in a different color. When I opened it, I immediately noticed that the shape and size were different. This one was bigger. After using it, I noticed that the "switch" mechanism that turns the warmer on when a mug is placed on it is different. I noticed that it is not as sensitive as my other device. Worst of all, when this block heats up to a temperature, it gives off a terrible smell. I suspect it is the release of volatile organic compounds from the internal components, amplified by the rise in temperature. It's a really bad smell that's awful and that's not even considering what inhaling those fumes is doing to me. I am returning this device. I don't trust that at all.
