ive seen review saying this switch snaps right into the hole left from removing a cigarette lighter from your dashboard. ive also seen reviews saying it fits a 3/4 hole. im not sure what the exact measurements are, but i know that in my case the switch fit perfectly into the cigarette lighter SOCKET, but after spending 4 plus hours to get the dash apart (gotta love those hard to reach bolts) and cutting fingers on rough edged plastic panels i was quite frustrated when after installing the switch as a line break for the switch cable to my amp, that upon trying to turn the amp on the switch simply fell through the hole. good old fashioned smacking device (hammer) fixed that problem surprisingly well, but i cant really fix this right untill i go to the scrap yard and get a new panel and socket. ive not yet tried drilling a hole to see how that works, or any of the other 9 switches i have left, but so far this product seems to reflect the price tag. still a good product, just not quite as precise on measurements as i would have hoped
