Review on OXO Grips Cherry Olive Pitter by Kristen Davis

I removed about 5 pounds of pitted cherries so quickly and effortlessly I'm still amazed at how well it works. I was afraid it would ruin the cherries but it didn't crush them at all. It simply pushes the pit through the middle and exits at the bottom or top (whichever way you place them) without touching the rest of the fruit. The splash guard works great and makes the process a lot cleaner without cleaning up. Pitting the berries requires very little effort. So if you have arthritis or other issues with your hands or muscles, you know it doesn't require a lot of pressure or a full fist. easy to clean, and a zippered closure makes it easy to store and take out of the drawer (it won't snag on things like it would if stored in the open position). One thing I noticed was that a few cherries (literally two of the dots) still had a pit, but if you pay even a little attention you can tell the pit hasn't fallen out and can easily be pulled out with it can center piece still hanging from the bottom of the cherry. I haven't tried it on olives (and probably won't) so I can't comment on how well it works on them, but it definitely won't work on anything bigger than cherries. I had to squeeze in some very large cherries, so its use is definitely limited to the stated purpose. It suits me because that's what I bought it for. It's so easy to use and so effective, I'm going to be eating more cherries this year than ever!
