Surprisingly, you can actually ruin them. The two holes are drilled too close to the side connecting the drilled sides (i.e. too far from the two ends of the clip) so that adjustment is not possible, resulting in the item not being placed on the bar can. Tried with another clip from another store, everything worked fine and the reason was obvious.
