Review on Kryptonite Noose Bicycle Chain Evolution by Steven Hanson

UPDATE May 26, 2018: After a complaint here and via email, the company has moved much faster. My third complaint was responded to immediately. I sawed off the broken lock, sent them a photo and they quickly rushed to a replacement which arrived the next day. So I've raised my rating to 4 stars. The new lock worked much smoother than the old one. The original lock was probably defective from the start. Picking one of those locks was kind of a revelation, by the way. It only lasted about 40 seconds I would guess. But to be honest, I needed an outlet, and I made a lot of noise for that. With a cordless sander I could in principle circumvent the limitation at that time, but it would still make noise. If you're relying on this lock to be unpickable and not noticing the grinding noise, there's probably not much you can do to protect your bike. The thicker stock is likely bolt cutter proof, which helps since such an attack is silent. In fact, however, the extra time for cutting with a grinder is not that significant. Here's my previous review: I've been using kryptonite locks for probably 35 years. Unfortunately this will probably be the last one I will ever buy. The keys suddenly refused to work. I regularly add chain lube to the lock according to their instructions, but it's not enough. After several hundred attempts to free my bike, I gave up and attempted to contact the real company. They don't answer calls. The site has a form to fill out. But be careful, if you make a mistake everything you've painstakingly typed into their little boxes will be erased. Good. I finally got it working and they said they were too busy to reply to me for 2 weeks. Two weeks! I think I should quit my job and wait on the couch for them to call me. I can't afford this nonsense. I will request a refund and get a lock from Abus. The chain itself is good so they deserve a few stars.
