This product stops small leaks after three coats are applied to the inner surface of cleaned aluminum gutter joints. The patching and sealing fluid is viscous, which increases its ability to fill small cracks and holes. There were no problems with leakage of sealant through the cracks and the appearance of gutters on the outside. Once cured, it becomes crystal clear, but eventually yellows or can be painted over. Inexpensive disposable brushes worked well as the liquid leveled itself and looked smooth after curing. Curing time is 24-48 hours depending on temperature and we waited two days for it to be tacky between layers. If it's applied too thick it will roll down, so we applied the first layer as thinly as possible. The 2nd and 3rd layers were a bit thicker and didn't seem to drip or puddle at the bottom of the vertical seams as easily. White spirit worked to eliminate drips and spills. Cleaning the area around the lid before closing the jar makes it easier to open the jar when it's time to apply another coat or two. It does its job for now and we have what's left in the jar to apply more layers if needed.
