After numerous problems trying to remove GM 8.5" and Ford 8.8" bearings with a conventional 2 arm puller, I decided to purchase a specialty tool , hoping that the fork will keep the grips from slipping. I'm not impressed. As other reviewers have noted, the jaws are too soft and deformed. The tips of the sponges just smeared over the bearing instead of ripping it off. The only way I was able to remove the bearings was by removing the cage and rollers and sanding down most of the rail to loosen them. And then there's the lousy quality control - the threads were screwed onto one end of the yoke, so the nut won't turn until I clean it.
