OTC's 4520 Differential Side Carrier Bearing Puller Set is an ideal solution for removing differential side carrier bearings on a wide variety of cars and light-duty trucks. Set includes: No. 4520-1 Forcing Screw/Cross Block Assembly, No. 4520-2 Puller Jaws/Pins (two ea.), No. 4520-3 Puller Jaws Retaining Yoke and No. 4520-4 Step Plate Adapters to fit carrier bearings. Spread is 2-5/8 inches on inner holes in crossbar, 3-3/8 inches on outer holes in crossbar; 1-5/8 inch reach; 3/4-16 x 6-11/16 inches long forcing screw. Look elsewhere for professional level tools

To work with my Dana 60 Swim Axle I would have to modify the puller arms by turning them to a thinner profile to even slide into the groove on the diff bracket I take the ring bearing. Puller arms are made from cheap cast metal.

Not suitable for Rubicon cabinet D44.

I tried it on a Dana44 Rubicon limited slip differential. Unfortunately, he did not get under the inner ring of the bearing. I made some changes to the puller arms but they still couldn't adjust to the correct angle to reach in the race. I modified it again by adding an extra set of holes on the bridge part to bring the hands closer to the bridge. These modifications were successful and the bearing could be removed quickly and easily.

Worked perfectly on Ford Trac-Lok 8.8.

I used this to pull out the side bearings on an 8.8" Ford Traction Lok and it worked great. I was concerned about some bad reviews but my experience was positive. tried pulling the bearings off on one of these, know the area for the shafts is narrow and flat, very narrow. I have several 2-jaw pullers and none fit. This fits without altering or grinding the shanks. I would also like to note that the puller did not touch the bearing race, the bearing was not damaged and could be reused. Although…

Mediocre at best on pullers

After numerous problems trying to remove GM 8.5" and Ford 8.8" bearings with a conventional 2 arm puller, I decided to purchase a specialty tool , hoping that the fork will keep the grips from slipping. I'm not impressed. As other reviewers have noted, the jaws are too soft and deformed. The tips of the sponges just smeared over the bearing instead of ripping it off. The only way I was able to remove the bearings was by removing the cage and rollers and sanding down most of the rail to loosen…

Not recommended - damage on first use

Dana 44 carrier bearings cannot be removed The metal rods are very soft and the tips that match the bearing were easily deformed/scraped on first use. After that it was useless. I have decided to return the product rather than sharpen the tips again. The cross brace is designed to keep the arms from bending and the tips from slipping and breaking, but the cross brace is too tall to use. If you decide to buy this tool and try it out, placing a large C-clip right next to the tips to keep them…
