Review on Versatile COFIT Bike Basket For All Your Commuting & Outdoor Needs by Eddie Kittylovin

Mostly good some meh - understand mystery of the rubber strips - (can put you off balance)

Overall I'm happy with this purchase. It was relatively easy to install the adaptor that goes on the handle bars to attach and detach the basket - except the little spacers were extremely difficult to keep in place - and you have to keep four separate pieces in place while you figure out exactly how to position the bigger front and back pieces.I purchased the version with the extra pockets, thinking it would be nice to put a water bottle in the side pocket, but the pocket was too small for even a small bottle and to close to the metal rim to be useful. I fixed this by replacing a V-shape piece of the pocket with stretchy thick spandex fabric. Sadly my hand sewing is holding up better than the factory sewing - pocket was pulling away from the bag and I hand to reinforce that with a couple of stitches. Many reviewers wondered what the two rubber strips were for. Fortunately, I know what these are and needed them, but unfortunately they were missing from mine (someone had mauled the hardware back open, repackaged the rest nicely, and returned the product with the strips missing) The strips are to close extra space as needed and to provide better grip when installing the adaptor - so the adaptor doesn't slip around on the handle bars. My handlebars are very narrow in the center meaning I desperately needed these. I improvised with some self adhesive sports tape. It looks a little funky but worked great. I'm away from home for an extended time or else I would have used a piece of an old tire tube.Bike is my only transportation on this trip, and the basket it just what I needed for small grocery runs. An added benefit from the handles is if you flop them inside while you're riding, it keeps things from bouncing out. I rode home yesterday with a bag full of groceries and a lightweight bag of popped popcorn on top , and the handles were perfect for holding it in. It works for smaller loads if you hit a bump too.The basket is great for carrying around the store as you shop, packing groceries back into it at checkout, popping it back on the bike and your ready to go!I'm adding on to this review: now that I've ridden a bit, I find that when the basket is full, it leave the bike a bit off balance. On a narrow curvy sidewalk that I can navigate easily and slowly I found myself swerving into a wall with basket on.
