Review on Linksys USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter for MacBook Air, Chromebook, Ultrabook (USB3GIG), Black by Lee Rodriguez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Good for connecting Chromecast to Ethernet network

Not much to say actually. It's small, good quality, and works with Chromecast Audio and Chromecast 1st Gen. Now I no longer stream to one of my Chromecasts over Wi-Fi. I think it's worth it. If you're doing it yourself look for a USB powered micro USB host OTG cable (there are a range from Revain, mine look like a Y or V cable). This and one of these adapters is all you need for the conversion. Sometimes it's cheaper than buying a Google-made ethernet power adapter from the Google Store, sometimes not (depending on sales). In other cases, like my Chromecast Audio, an ethernet connection on the power adapter is a bad place, and such a dongle is better.

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Some problems
