Returns the specified speeds. If it works at all

My built in network card can't handle it, I don't have PCI-E slots to add a better one and I thought this product would be the perfect solution. Oh boy I had one more thing. Of course, when this works, I get full speed from my ISP for the first time, but the connection drops completely every ten minutes or so, even though the provided drivers have been reinstalled. By the way, these drivers? Blue screen on my computer when I first installed it. Yes. As if anyone needs that kind of stress in…

Pros
  • It's fun
Cons
  • A bad experience

Good adapter on USB network adapters

I bought two of these ethernet adapters and use them to connect my Chromecast 1st and 2nd gen to a wired network instead of a wireless one. Judging by the internet, Chromecasts are finicky and only work with adapters based on specific chipsets. They certainly work well with Chromecasts. I have not tested the USB3 aspect of these adapters (Chroma only works with USB2) nor have I tested them in any other capacity. But they work fine for my application. Although you can tell they get a little…

Yes 100Mbps connection No 1000Mbps (Gigabit)

I've been using them for years since version 2.0usb. They are cool. They work well in Fast Ethernet 100Mbps. They also go to work a lot. So I had a few. Use it, USB3GIG, on both Dell Win10/7 laptops and MacBook Pro, just plug and play. So fiber gigabit is currently available to a group of my customers. I ran some speed/bandwidth tests with speedtest com and then tested over a direct cable with iperf. Results NOT ANYWHERE NEAR Gigabit 1000Mbps. The best I got with iperf and 3ft cat6 was 183Mbps.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

Good for connecting Chromecast to Ethernet network

Not much to say actually. It's small, good quality, and works with Chromecast Audio and Chromecast 1st Gen. Now I no longer stream to one of my Chromecasts over Wi-Fi. I think it's worth it. If you're doing it yourself look for a USB powered micro USB host OTG cable (there are a range from Revain, mine look like a Y or V cable). This and one of these adapters is all you need for the conversion. Sometimes it's cheaper than buying a Google-made ethernet power adapter from the Google Store…

Crappy driver - expected better from LinkSys

Be careful if you have a MacBook with High Sierra. Crappy drivers from Linksys, both on CD and on the website. that does not work. At least they are not for me. What they REALLY did was turn off my bluetooth (not available) and wifi (hardware not installed, bug) and the stupid thing didn't even get an ethernet connection. I almost tore my hair out trying to figure out what went wrong and why I was suddenly having hardware problems. Of course, there was no uninstall, and I couldn't even find…

Great USB 3.0 LAN/RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter!

I had previously purchased a USB 2.0 10/100 Mbps version of this device (then called "Cisco" versus Linksys) and was happy with it, but wanted to move to Gigabit / 1000Mbps and USB 3.0 as Gigabit network hardware is becoming as ubiquitous as USB 3.0 ports and there is no need for bottlenecks. The form factor of this device is almost identical to the previous USB 2.0/10/100 Mbps version, with the only exception of the USB connector and the fact that it is Linksys instead of Cisco. The cable is…

This is by far one of the best tech purchases I've made lately

I have to say that this is definitely one of the best tech purchases I've made lately . My 2013 Dell Inspiron 13z laptop came with a 100Mbps Ethernet NIC, and I was very surprised that computer manufacturers continued to use 100Mbps NICs instead of Gigabit NICs in 2013. This Gigabit USB 3.0 Ethernet USB Adapter saved the day. I recently upgraded to Verizon 150/150 FiOS Internet and am now getting full download and upload speeds as intended. Also, my latency is 2ms on average. Thank you Linksys…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
