I researched over 30 scooters from different manufacturers before deciding on XOOTR. I was looking for a quality, durable scooter for kids because I wanted this to last and not be another frustrating scooter that breaks within hours or days of use like many cheaper ones ($75 or less) scooter. However, it was difficult to find a quality scooter for children. I contacted the manufacturer to check and they said they had reports of children as young as three using it even though it was an adult scooter. I can confirm that the XOOTR scooter can be used by children from 5 years old, no problem! After the kids tried it I tried it myself and it was so much fun that I started using it just like the kids did! Buy another one! Two kids and one adult (45 to 195 lbs) have been using this XOOTR almost daily for about two months and the scooter is showing no signs of wear. The brakes are good for slowing you down but too hard for small children. The wheel size is larger than other scooters and the bearings are super smooth, allowing you to pick up speed quickly and maintain speed well on smooth, paved surfaces. We avoid riding on wet or dusty surfaces to keep bearings and lubrication in good condition. The frame and handlebars are very strong aluminum, and the plastic deck is some kind of industrial-grade resin that can carry a 195-pound rider almost every day without fail. within two months, so I'd say it passes the endurance test. The frame release button is too firm for small children to press easily, but they can release it to fold the scooter after some effort. Of course it's easy for adults. If the XOOTR breaks I will update this review to reflect how long it lasted. Very happy with this purchase! I would definitely recommend the XOOTR Dash to anyone who wants a fun scooter that will last.
