This peephole looks very nice and looks quite sturdy. The viewing window cover inside is a nice touch. As others have said, a 5/8" drill bit is required to get the correct hole size. Most drill sets are not available in this size. Went to Home Depot and bought a Dewalt drill press which cost me almost $20 so here we go. it in mind. The main reason I bought this particular one is that the viewer's lip is slightly larger on the inside than the others and covers the opening better. I believe my door is steel with foam inside and when I drilled the hole it wasn't perfectly round leaving a few jagged bits. I had to try to file and bend the jagged parts to get a viewer, but the large lip helped hide any imperfections from the drilling.
