Review on Polymaker Industrial Filament Printing PC ABS Additive Manufacturing Products by Mike Devine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great if you know what you're doing.

I ordered this material for use in a protective jacket for a high school engineering project and so far it has worked great. I printed this material with an Ender 5 Pro on a glass build plate in a standard body and saw great results with an extruder temperature of 260°C and a bed temperature of 110°C, although I had to get the most out of my printer; As long as you keep the filament dry and pay close attention to making sure your printer is set up properly, this is a great material for high impact applications. I've only used Magigoo PC to stick to a bed (you can get away with it without a rim) and it's worked well, but I can't speak to its ability to stick to other surfaces like magnetic sheets and PEI or glass without Magigoo -PC. The only downside I can think of is that unless you're like me and don't have a $3,000 printer with the ability to heat the body to 90C, the material properties will drop off a bit and your print might weaken adhesion layers. and while it's also more brittle, as this can eventually be overcome by simply heating your material in an oven and/or careful design, this is a minor complaint overall. TLDR: Would recommend if you can get the temps required and can afford a $20 bottle of Magigoo.

Pros
  • Exceptionally strong and heat resistant polycarbonate filament
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was something
