I have tried several antennas with my BCD996P2 scanner at my home. Usually listen to amateur radio bands and local community groups. This antenna surpassed other options in terms of reception quality and signal gain. If you are looking for the best 2M, 70cm or Public Safety 700-900 antenna for your base station but don't want to mount a large antenna outside, buy this one. If you get reception on the frequency now, you will probably notice a big difference. Seems a little pricey but the reception made it worth it. It should be noted that it's quite tall so make sure you have enough room to fully stretch out at just over 4 feet tall. I've found that I get the best reception in the 800MHz band by keeping the bottom part of the extender in the lowest position while extending the rest.
