THIS IS: The Super Antenna SuperScanR model SR1, a scanner antenna and SDR antenna, conveniently retractable with a built-in Low Profile Tripod to support it. It provides super long range reception for all types of scanners. Indoor or outdoor external scanner antenna that can be deployed on any table, desk, floor, back yard, patio, porch, shelf, desk, garage, attic, or balcony. COMPATIBILITY: All scanners or SDRs that have capability to connect an external antenna. SPECIFICATIONS: Receives for scanning or monitoring all VHF and UHF radio bands and frequencies, for omni-directional reception. The SuperScanR antenna receives Police, Fire, Air, Rescue, Business, Marine, Government, Federal, Aeronautical, SDR radio, HAM, MURS, FRS, GMRS, PMR, Weather, FM, FM Narrow/Wide, Digital, APCO-25, Project 25, P45, Tetra, Trunking, Low Band, 20 MHz to 100 MHz, High Band, 100 MHz to 300 MHz, VHF, UHF, 300 MHz to 1.3 GHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, and everything in between. DEPLOYMENT: Deploys in 3 minutes by one person with no tools needed. Can be positioned away from the scanner or computer. SIZE: Extremely compact 12" x 2.5" x 2" (30x6x5cm) for travel, it fits easily into a pocket of your Go Bag. DEPLOYED SIZE EXTENDED: Triangular tripod base extends to 19" (49cm) wide footprint. The tip of the antenna is 51" (130cm) tall when deployed to full length, and it may be adjusted to a lower height if desired. WEIGHT: Only 10 ounces (284g), and heavy duty. COLOR: Natural metallic silver. COAXIAL CONNECTOR: Type SO-239 female (PL-259 compatible) with 50 ohm standard impedance (common to all scanners). FITTINGS: all 3/8"-24 threads. TRIPOD HUB: milled from a solid block of aircraft grade aluminum, and has three 3/8"-24 holes to interface with the removable tripod legs. RADIAL TERMINALS: Two quarter-inch (6mm) male push-on male tabs provide secure quick disconnect for optional SuperWire Radial Sets and ground lugs to the mount hub. CONTENTS: This is only a tripod antenna. It DOES NOT CONTAIN A COAXIAL CABLE. You will need a coaxial cable and/or COAXIAL ADAPTER for your scanner. Couldn't be happier for a hobby.

Excellent antenna. I have a 12" cable and it's (for now) just on my living room table in the same room as my computer and TV. I get agencies from all over southern Maine and very clear. I'm learning but I can say that this antenna is a very good start.

Significantly improved reception.

Bought to try on my Home Patrol 2, reception on the HP2 is compatible with the kit antenna terrible. After assembly, I attached 50 feet of cable and installed the antenna on the deck. I got instant hits from stations I knew were there because I could pick them up with my twenty year old radio shop scanner. This antenna makes the hp2 worth keeping in my scanner/radio lineup. I ordered an MR 642 radial kit to add to this antenna and can't wait to hook up other radios and practice this antenna.

My reception has been greatly improved

Such a big difference

I have tried several antennas with my BCD996P2 scanner at my home. Usually listen to amateur radio bands and local community groups. This antenna surpassed other options in terms of reception quality and signal gain. If you are looking for the best 2M, 70cm or Public Safety 700-900 antenna for your base station but don't want to mount a large antenna outside, buy this one. The Midway Airport Tower sounds like it's on the block when it's actually 15 miles away.

I have had this antenna for a few weeks now and am very impressed with its performance. I paired it with a Uniden Home Patrol scanner and it effectively doubled my hearing range. i'm ok 22 miles southwest of the Chicago Loop and I have no problem tracking down the entire Chicago Police Department, including the far north.
