Review on Circular saw Makita 5008MG, 1800 W blue/silver by Adam Listopad ᠌

Nice price, good quality.

I can’t say that working with this tool gives some incredibly accurate details, or that it is ideally convenient, but on the other hand, I have not been to the “bottom” of interskols and other foremen, so it is quite possible that after them this saw appeared would be a work of art to me. Gotta discount it :) Some pros: - Excellent performance, engine power is enough, on thick boards I only slow down its movement a little, and then only to get a cleaner cut. - The disc from the kit cuts quite cleanly. Not ideal, but a lot depends on the blanks - finding a well-dried one in an amateur workshop is an impossible task. - Cast base. Although the saw is attached to it with stamped parts, they are made of fairly thick metal. - The position of the saw relative to the sole is fixed by eccentrics. Just like lifting the saddle on a modern bicycle. - Normal weight. I won’t say that it is light, but during normal use: “I put it on the material, sawed it, shifted the saw” my hands do not get tired, there are no complaints about the weight. - Nice design. Often, a Makita can be seen with a characteristic economy in appearance, which results in the absence of rubberized linings, but this is in order. - A long cord, with a wonderful soft braid (rubber?), which I see on all Makitov devices powered by a mains. I especially want to dwell on how this cord is folded in the box: it is folded into a ring, and not folded repeatedly in half. I don’t know about you, but it gets on my nerves when you take out a new thing, and the cord to it is all wrinkled after months of lying in a box, and it never returns to a straight state, it gets confused at random. Whether it's the case here: we unfold the ring, and the whole cord is perfectly straight, it does not intertwine with itself anywhere, everything is fine. In addition to Makita, only Apple saw such a situation with power cords to their computers. Has some cons: - Few technological holes in the sole. I took it for mounting in a table, and without losing the warranty (read: without drilling the sole), it is not too easy to fix it. Anyway, I solved this problem. - Very noisy work. Of course, a circular saw is not a quiet device, but there is no way to work without headphones at all, and the noise does not depend on the type of workpiece being cut. - Terrible Makitovsky parallel emphasis. It springs and bends as it wants. Very short - it extends very slightly, but it’s understandable: if it mows like that at a small run-out, then at a greater distance it will turn around by 45 ° =) - Very thin disc included. It's easy to hurt, which I apparently did. I observe a small figure eight on the disk, but the width of the cut does not seem to have grown.
