These things are just cool! I've used Swiss Stop pads, they're fantastic, but no better than Kool Stops and significantly more expensive. I can only speak for the black and orange dual brake pads, but as a Seattle resident I can say that they are fantastic on my hilly, wet roads. The feel of the pads is great - comfortably soft, grippy engagement and progressive feel throughout the stroke. This is one of those cheap and easy (seriously, two allen keys and 10 minutes) upgrades that will have you wondering why you waited so long for your standard pads. If you're one of those people who feels the need to spend money on your bike to feel faster, or can't imagine American components on your thoroughbred Italian bike, get SwissStop brake pads. However, if you don't have a fetish for increasingly expensive bike components, stock up on Kool Stop pads and use the money you save to buy yourself a nice espresso and croissant for your next rides.
