Review on AMY6 Magnetic Tester by General Tools in Blue Color by Todd Taniguchi

Works no worse than much more expensive devices.

Very easy to use. decent quality. Product: Pleasantly bright illumination and shrill tones when detecting poles. The larger the magnet, the further it can identify. Once you have determined the pole, especially if you are using strong magnets, mark it with a marker. Cons: It uses weird batteries that are difficult to install or replace. They're slightly larger than watch batteries, and you install them by twisting the black cap at the end, beneath which is a standard "plug-in" battery compartment, with the batteries stacked on top of each other and on a spring. Squeezing 4 of them into one area isn't too difficult, but it could be designed better. I accidentally ordered two of these. One came with batteries, the other didn't. Make sure you have batteries as I suspect they are not easy to find. After returning a randomly ordered meter, I found my old meter (one I had years ago) and after sitting in a tool box for 10 years the batteries still worked, so although batteries are a pain you appear to have an exceptionally long shelf life.

Pros
  • The tester is powered by 4 LR44 batteries, which are included with the instrument.
Cons
  • High price.
