Works best in a multitester

Some people have commented negatively on this unit so I bought this and another type just in case. The other one hasn't arrived in the mail yet, so I don't know how good it is, but this one works really well. I was a little confused about how to put the batteries in or how much to use, but it's really easy. You open the cover twice clockwise or counterclockwise (it doesn't matter) to open the battery cover. There is a small diagram on the cover showing the direction in which to insert the…

Works as advertised; a few features

Pocket magnet detector that correctly detects the "North" and "South" pole of a magnet. Easy to use: Bring the working end to the magnet, press the button and you will hear a beep and the red or green LED will light up depending on the magnetic pole detected. Works with rather weak magnets, for example in toy motors. The beep is pretty loud and it would be nice to be able to turn it off, but I can live with that. The device is lightweight, compact and fairly durable. What cost it a star is the…

Works no worse than much more expensive devices.

Very easy to use. decent quality. Product: Pleasantly bright illumination and shrill tones when detecting poles. The larger the magnet, the further it can identify. Once you have determined the pole, especially if you are using strong magnets, mark it with a marker. Cons: It uses weird batteries that are difficult to install or replace. They're slightly larger than watch batteries, and you install them by twisting the black cap at the end, beneath which is a standard "plug-in" battery…

  • High price.

It's a very poorly designed tool

So it works. It will tell you if the magnetic field is north or south. Other than that, it's designed horribly. Everything in it is simple. stupid.1. No instructions 2. The packaging is bad. Batteries are supplied in sealed blister packs. You know what anti-theft super hard plastic displays for small electronics are made of. Except they are not exposed. You don't need 5 or 10 minutes of tedious cutting at different angles with electronic cutters to get to your batteries. Batteries included with
