Haven't tried the big cutter. The smaller chisel is good for drilling into soft/loose soil like my garden bed. Does not cut into hard ground. I bought it to make some post holes in my yard. Because the vegetables have a root-level drip irrigation system and the stakes had to be outside of the plowed area, the soil is hard. Not that heavy - I can still push the shovel through 3-4 inches. This drill will not drill past the tip. I also noticed that the edges of the drill bit (the part that cuts into the ground) are not beveled. Then I expected to have a blade so it would be easier to "cut into the ground". "I tried both an 18V cordless drill and a 110V cordless drill, no difference. I wonder if all other brands have the same problem or just this manufacturer.
