Description says uses 18v cordless drill I had 20v and most failed but for mostly I could work with it small part. I still had to make multiple moves back and forth for each hole. Maybe a cordless screwdriver worked better? The drills aren't fancy, you need a softer soil and more power/torque from your planter. It rained early which helped. I made holes to fertilize all my trees and it would be cumbersome to pull an extension. To be fair any other brand of drill would give the same results.
Haven't tried the big cutter. The smaller chisel is good for drilling into soft/loose soil like my garden bed. Does not cut into hard ground. I bought it to make some post holes in my yard. Because the vegetables have a root-level drip irrigation system and the stakes had to be outside of the plowed area, the soil is hard. Not that heavy - I can still push the shovel through 3-4 inches.
