We have a German Shepherd who produces a lot of waste. For many years we have used the YardPup dog waste collection system which uses old food bags. This product is left outside in bad weather and still works well after more than 8 years. Problem? shopping bags. We want to stop using plastic bags. I haven't found a compostable/biodegradable bag to store the items in for a week to replace them in YardPup. So we came up with another idea. We will be using a 5 gallon pedal bin, 7 gallon biodegradable bags lining the inner bin, and a metal tray/rake to collect waste. So let's see how it works and I'll report.
