Review on Nokian Tires Nordman RS2 205/55 R16 94R winter by Adam Borkoski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality, did not expect at all for the price.

Michelin X-ice3 got me where I needed to go, but after trying studded Pirelli Ice Zero, I went back to Velcro because I didn't see any improvement in traction after the bear and I nearly crashed into the curb a few occasions because to the studs. I opted to get by with cheap tires for the season due to financial constraints. The Optima was for me, while the Solaris was for my wife. Therefore, I have no complaints about the rubber, however it does have some drawbacks. I traveled 8,000 kilometers on roads of varying quality, including 300 kilometers along Finka on bare ice (yes, yes, it happens), a little bit sprinkled with pebbles, of course I was strained, but the rubber behaved quite decently, at 100 kilometers per hour and even slowed down, but at 60 to 70 kilometers per hour on a slippery winding road. Although the ice was colder in the suburbs, At the maximum of 245 forces on a monodrive, it is difficult to get under way on a slippery road, whereas on a Solaris, the tires react more naturally and confidently. In the end, I've decided to give it another season. All-wheel drive or low-powered vehicles are recommended. The advantages of more expensive alternatives diminish as the price rises.

Pros
  • Good hydroplaning and braking performance; good ice grip thanks to the barbed rubber.
Cons
  • It has a low speed index and is challenging to get going on ice, thus porridge does not stay put very well.
