Review on πŸš— XO Vision Power Window Kit for 2-Door Windows by Payton Stovall

Past experience helps

I installed this kit on a 1998 Ford Van in just under 3 hours. I had previously removed the dashboard and door panels, so I knew what I was getting into. I looked at the "instructions" for a few minutes and found that they are basically useless other than telling you not to twist or kink wires from the motor to the window crankshaft. The instructions didn't mention anything about wiring. I learned more from the actual parts than the instructions. If you're mechanically inclined and have a good understanding of vehicle wiring, this shouldn't be too much of a challenge. To be honest I found trying to install caps that cover the hole where the window handle used to be was the worst part of the job. Only basic tools are required to install the kit itself. Remove the door panels and dashboard, it depends on the car. The engines are pretty big. The control buttons and brackets are also on the large side. If you look at the picture of all the parts on the website, the 5 black discs on the molding are about 1 3/4" in diameter and everything else is to scale. I would examine the inside of your door to see if there Place is. before order. They seem to work fine. About 3 seconds up or down on the driver's side and about 4 seconds on the passenger's side (I think there is a voltage drop due to the longer wires on the passenger's side. I haven't tested it , just a guess. Replacing it with a heavier gauge wire will fix this, but that's not a problem. Since this is a high power circuit, I used the cigarette lighter circuit as the power supply. I'll have to go back and check the relay install that connects to the ignition. Since the instructions didn't say anything about the wiring, I didn't notice the buttons lit up until it got dark. Since I connected constant 12v supply, lights are always on. As another review says, radio button templates are a must, so be careful when using them. Much better than manual windows for the price. Update 12/16/2012: Still works fine. One of the plugs covering the original window handle holes fell out shortly after installation. I installed the second set on another van and this time glued the caps on, the glued caps lasted over a year. Also, I've never bothered to install a relay so the kit has constant power (which is nice because you don't have to turn the key to close the window). I had my van installed for over a week and not a single dead battery. I have a 1000 amp starter battery. If you have a smaller battery and additional drains like phone chargers, GPS, etc. it can drain your battery.
