This is the first tow tractor we've tested that claims to be driver driven. While not fully steerable, it gives the rider enough control to easily navigate back and forth behind the boat in the wake and avoid unwanted boat whips. With practice, some riders can get it to rock back and forth and out of the wave. But I'm sure it won't take very long. There is no protective cover and the rope from the boat is attached to a strap that is glued to the vinyl raft. If the driver falls, this bow/submarine thing can dive. This puts enormous pressure on the boat and raft. I expect the raft's glue to give up before the boat. We've been using it for less than a month.
