I recently installed a Yolink valve/motor/hub system along with 7 Yolink water sensors. All components work well and I've had no trouble picking up sensor signals from distant parts of the house. In addition, the hub is 80 feet from the valve, motor and controller, which are located in an underground valve box 10 feet off the street on my front property. The valve controller receives signals without any problems and the valve works without problems, either out of the box or via the application on the iPhone. At the moment I have not configured the 7 sensors to automatically actuate the valve when there is water on the sensor. Can be left as is to avoid valve closing in the event of an accidental spill. I have a system programmed to send an iPhone email when a sensor detects water. If necessary, I can close the valve via the app depending on the situation. Programming via the app is simple and straightforward. Installation went without problems. My main feed water line is 1" PVC 40mm thick. The box, which as mentioned above contains the Yolink controller, valve and motor, is located about 80 feet from the Yolink hub which is in the house. The attached photos show before and after installation. I used 1" male PVC pipe adapters to connect to my 1" female valve and then connected the main PVC pipe to the other ends of the two adapters. It is necessary To use PVC pipe tape or pipe lube on the threads to ensure tightness I attached the valve controller to the main pipe with zip ties I attached it away from the ends of the box and away from the bottom of the box Very small controller box to come with Runs on 4 AA batteries Fits easily in a box Comparatively, the signals and response times from the hub/system are much better than my hub/ring system With Ring, the signal strength is not consistent throughout the house, which some times results in streaming errors even after I add their signal boosters. Current Rings system technology will never be able to reach anything underground as long as my Yolink hub is remote from valve control. Ring has just expanded its range and Flo by Moens smart check valve adverts say they work with a Ring. Never work in my app. Even with signal boosters, the call signal is too weak. So they were never an option for me. After researching a remote shutoff valve system for external applications, yolink was the only one I found competitive that had the signal strength in my scenario to communicate between the hub and the controller. yolink's customer service and support is excellent with quick response times to any issues or questions. I had several installation questions before purchasing the product and Eric from yolink support answered all questions in a very timely manner, sometimes within an hour. If the equipment lasts, they have the service, support and technology to become leaders in this market. I will comment on the maintenance of the equipment after using it for some time.
