I first ordered the TDS-EZ which seems to be so popular and its readings are very dependent on temperature. TDS-EZ does not have Automatic Temperature Control (ATC). The professional digital TDS meter has ATC, although this isn't actually listed on the Revain site (it's listed in the instructions, see photos). While ATC works, it doesn't fully compensate for temperatures over a wide range, but it's enough for me to control my tap water and reverse osmosis system performance. You can't expect these inexpensive $10-$20 TDS meters to be as accurate as $100 lab quality models! Look at the photos of the product and on the last one you will see a promo code with a 15% discount. Don't forget to use it at checkout (I didn't see it before ordering). As a result, the price drops to the level of other cheap meters. I compared the temperature reading to my Lavatools thermostick and it is within 1 degree in the 50 to 70 degree Fahrenheit range, about 2 degrees above 80 degree Fahrenheit. I wasn't interested in the sensor's temperature function, but no doubt the temperature readings are used for TDS temperature compensation calculations, so they affect the accuracy of the TDS. However close enough for home use. Here are some readings at different temperatures compared to TDS-EZ without ATC: Revain seems to remove extra spaces, so formatting is disabled. ) Device 2nd column: Pro digital 3rd temperature reading. This meter takes a long time to stabilize when the liquid temperature is very different from room temperature. I think this is simply due to the thermistor based temperature measurement (like my other cheap digital kitchen thermometers). which take about 15 seconds to stabilize). I had to constantly turn the meter over every few seconds until the reading stabilized, likely air bubbles and thermistor acclimating. The TDS-EZ read every reading it wanted to display without much noise. The meter uses a standard 2032 lithium battery (rated capacity 200 mAh). (minor), so count on around 400 hours of work. Lithium cells have a shelf life of about 10 years, you will likely lose the meter before the battery dies! For more information about the meter and the company, visit the Health-Metric dot com website. Below I have posted pictures of the instructions. 98F and 1395ppm at 78F. This seems reasonable as the range of this device is 0-9990ppm, tap water or reverse osmosis water readings are at the extreme end of the range. One more thing, when the hold function is active there is no reading on the display and it seems that it automatically goes into hold mode after a few minutes (or maybe when the readings stabilize?). If your reading does not change, be sure to remove the meter from the liquid for a moment to ensure the reading is zero (and the hold function is not active).
