I have RAM mounts on either side of the dash on my Jeep Wrangler YJ and this is my new favorite way to secure my phone. While I have a harder time plugging and unplugging my phone when I want to take a quick photo, it's a lot more secure than other things I've tried. I'm not worried about my phone flying out the window. Part of my problem is that I use Pop Socket on my iPhone 12 Max Pro. It works great but the pop socket makes it a little tight. I like the flexibility of this mount; You can customize it according to your configuration. I take mine off and keep it safe before leaving my jeep open so it doesn't get stolen.
