Review on πŸ”³ Milwaukee 49-56-0032 8" Hardened Hole Saw by James Lesley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Hard as a nail. for hole saws and accessories

This thing cuts very quickly through plaster, wood battens and wood paneling that together make up a face of several walls in our house. It was way faster than the new and improved Irwin Speedbor "Max" (or whatever they call it) triple edge bits, which I think are pretty impressive on their own. However, once it fills up with waste, it stops evolving. Then it's time to get a screwdriver and pick out the junk. However, with its strategic placement of slots on the sides of this little cylinder, Milwaukee has made this part of the task as easy as possible. Along the way, the saw happened to come across metal, but so far it doesn't look worn. The house was built in 1927 and expanded twice shortly thereafter. When I got married here last year almost all the wires were the original pen and whistle; I replaced each part step by step, starting with maintenance. So far every Milwaukee I've tried has worked great. This custom-sized hole saw makes holes large enough to run multiple NM-B cables at once, or insert a Sawzall disc when a much larger hole is required. I expect to buy a 4 inch hole saw soon when I get to the point of installing the new ceiling lights.

Pros
  • Matrix II bi-metal teeth for strength
Cons
  • Something different
