Review on Brita 36428 Everyday Pitchers by Jennifer Franklin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great jug - the reservoir comes out

This jug is pretty simple. It works exactly as advertised. As some other reviewers have pointed out, the inner filter reservoir is taken out for cleaning and should be removed for cleaning before first use. If you do this, you shouldn't have any trouble removing it later. I've had several Britas, from traditional to stream, so I knew what to expect in terms of fill times. I actually replaced my stream with this one as the stream only filters chlorine. The long lasting filter that comes with this pitcher produces the same cleaner tasting water as the original white filters. This pitcher has a wide spout with no restrictions, but I had no problem filling even the ice cream bowls. He simply tilts it to pour from one of the spout's corners. I also hold it with one hand, with the other hand on the front of the jug, with my thumb on the lid to secure it. This is especially useful when there is water in the top tank of the filter. The only downside is that it doesn't have a turn signal cover like most other models. They offer a moving indicator sticker at the top to remind you when to change, but I would have preferred a backlit reminder. I'm not sure why they left it out on this model considering it costs the same as the Monterey. It's not a big deal as you usually get a sense of when the filter needs replacing, but it's nice to consider that when you run out of filters it's close.
