So I happily crimped my wires to these connectors. All passed the pull test, life was good. But then I got to the Classic Blue Female Spade Terminal for 14-16 AWG wire. Everything looked fine until I tried the old pull test. You see, every crimp made with a crimping tool needs to be checked by pulling the wire at least a little to make sure they're secure, and you do this before you shrink the adhesive-coated shrink wrap. Anyway, my 14 AWG UL listed wire has to be pulled out every time. I adjusted the heat shrink compatible crimping tool to get as tight as possible without any fun. So I inspected the connector and it looked. slim. The caliper measurement showed them to be 0.37mm, other Classic Blue connectors were in the 0.70mm range. A loose wire can be an inconvenience to some and a fire to others. I would go to a local home center and get some UL listed connectors. I exposed the connector to get accurate caliper readings. Also included is an example with the cap still on - I think this is offset by 0.02mm due to twisting when drilling through the caliper and camera to take the picture.
