Review on Leadrise®1 Nylon Cycling Mountain Bicycle by Tony Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works very well, withstands rough terrain and use. However, consider deleting the clips entirely.

These clips didn't fit my pedals; However, I recommended them to a friend of mine who used them on our 7 day bike trip. We've carried over 50 pounds of weight on roads, trails and grass in dry, wet, muddy, rainy and flooded conditions, and these pedals changed everything. In any difficult terrain, pedaling allows you to use extra muscles to give rest to the main pedaling muscles. At critical moments, you can use the pedals to accelerate to avoid people or obstacles, or to catch up after slowing down. It really made our trip bearable and withstood a lot of abuse. However, I am now very excited about the contactless system and will be using the clickless system on future rides. The pedals were a great introduction to this style of cycling and held themselves up, but their size and attachment time becomes tiresome after a few hundred stops. We chose to tie our shoes to the pedals rather than buying special shoes without clips to save the bulk and weight of a second pair of shoes. Next time we'll bring a pair of sneakers and light Crocs for lounging :)
