Review on Black Cardinal Gates Deck Shield, 15-foot Roll by Trish Edens

I bought this to protect our cats as the railing on our balcony is quite wide. Overall, it's doing its job well so far. Seems durable and will likely hold up well. What I didn't like about this case was that it was difficult to connect to our deck with the included hardware. You get zip ties and large silver metal hooks with screw ends. As you can see in my photo there is a big gap between the railing and the deck. Provides a very large area for the cat to squeeze through. The phrase "curiosity killed the cat" is not fair. Lol So it was important to make sure I closed that gap as much as possible. When I bought it I didn't realize there was no other way to attach it to the deck other than using the hooks that come with it, so my fault. But it wore me down. I didn't want to completely damage the floor by screwing in the massive hook, but I also didn't want to leave it open to attract the cats. Luckily I had small cable clamps (a tiny nail with a plastic hook) holding the net to the deck. I wouldn't trust it to hold anything with cable clamps alone. But in combination with zip ties I think they will be enough to prevent an accident.
