This is exactly what I needed to make my motherboard's M.2 slot more accessible. I have to pull out my graphics card, two other PCIe cards, and two covers to access one of my M.2 slots - I still have to pull out the bracket I installed it on, but it's a BIG improvement. The connectors allow me to pull out the cable to remove it completely and easily swap out drives. This device uses a thin cable with the connectors you typically see in a laptop. I was able to bend the cable at the connector end so that it comes out perpendicular to the card and from behind the covers. I've checked the shield on the cable and it has a layer of insulation so nothing shorts out, but I'll still try to make sure it's not directly on the boards. I glued the female end to the back of the bracket. My RAID card battery is on. I didn't run a hard drive test on it, but I was able to boot the OS onto the card with no issues.
