Good tool for problem solving.

This is exactly what I needed to make my motherboard's M.2 slot more accessible. I have to pull out my graphics card, two other PCIe cards, and two covers to access one of my M.2 slots - I still have to pull out the bracket I installed it on, but it's a BIG improvement. The connectors allow me to pull out the cable to remove it completely and easily swap out drives. This device uses a thin cable with the connectors you typically see in a laptop. I was able to bend the cable at the connector end

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

Chop! Electronics

Does exactly what it's supposed to. It was a little awkward hanging this through the window on the side of my laptop (hope to upload a picture soon) but it gets the job done.

  • Entertaining
Cons

Great for Gen3, not so good for Gen4

There was almost no difference in speed when using the extension on my Samsung 850 Pro (Gen3). go from 6kb to 2kb, writing went down from 5kb to 3kb which is not good. In short: expansion to NVMe 3.0 = great! Upgrading to NVMe 4.0 = loss of performance

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Some cons

So far so good after using the replacement cable

$21.99 for screw and screwdriver. I can't even finish the speed test and get a blue screen after using the cable. Then I can't boot until I remove the cable. Update: After replacing the cable sent by Sintech, the speed seems to be ok. At least it passed the speed test. Will be updated after daily use.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly cracked

Works perfectly! good for internal SSDs

Installed this expander on a Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVME drive today. Wanted to move it to a cooler location in my small NZXT H400i Micro-ATX case. Installation was easy and it works like a charm. If you look at the image I've attached, I don't think the speed reduction is significant.

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • Poor set

Good cable! Bright LEDs

I used this cable to move my Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter due to poor reception (I also had the adapter to get the correct m.2 dongle). It was a great decision. The cable is very similar to the cable on the PCI riser, so it's quite flexible. The only aspect I would consider negative is that the cable has an LED on the other end which is very bright and I had to cover it with tape (for aesthetic reasons). It also wasn't possible to install it without a stand, so you can buy double-sided tape.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
