Just tried this latest (and only) kx matrikx pb1 filter replacement. This thing is different from the original pb1 it replaced. I don't care where it's made. First replacement a few years ago, this one is made in the USA with a plastic mesh over the filter. 2nd replacement in 2016, still made in USA but slightly cheaper (no plastic grille).
