Started using these water filters in June 2013 for tea, soda stream, pet drinking water, my drinking water and for soups etc. The taste is clean and the filter works quickly (this is actually a Brita product). I ended up buying the largest pitcher and now use my old Pur 18 water dispenser as the water tank in the Mavea fridge with filtered water; always have enough cold water ready in the fridge. These are excellent filters: they remove all tastes and odors from my heavily chlorinated, rock-hard city water. Unlike Brita filters (which have not been good for the water I live in) they don't pour embers into the jug. As other reviewers have pointed out, Mavea is the "real" Brita, meaning the German company that invented the jug filter and continues to use the "Brita" name in Europe. I bought a Mavea jug for a great price and have been using it for about a year. Compared to Brita, the filters themselves appear to be better filters (based on features and reading about them), but in real life I can't tell much difference in taste between the two. I use this pitcher to fill my dog's water bowl and in our Keurig machine, otherwise I use our refrigerator's built-in polyurethane filter. Both filters work approximately the same.
