Description of 1.5 Inch Hydroseal PVC Pipe Fitting, White Union Jetstream With EPDM O-Ring For SCH80 Schedule - Socket X Socket, F1970 Compatible

Union fitting for connecting and disconnecting two pipes more easily than with couplings. Socket openings on both ends for connecting two male pipes. PVC for strength and resistance to chemicals and corrosion, and an EPDM seal for resistance to oil, water, and some solvents. Maximum operating temperature of 140 degrees F. Meets ASTM D1784 and D2466 standards for quality assurance

Bad O rings good for me

I used these unions to fix a break in my sprinkler system. I glued the union into place and turned the water on, and the union leaked immediately. I ended up having to replace the rubber O ring in both unions, because the rings were old and didn’t effectively seal. I would have sent them back, but I had already glued the unions into place. Be prepared to replace the O rings.

  • The price was good and deliver quick. I've used these before and they do a great job

  • The Socket X Socket configuration can be difficult to work with, requiring specialized tools and expertise to install properly.

Good quality at a good price

Use these on a tomato hydroponics system. Aids 8n cleaning and flushing as well as expansion of buckets. Hold up to occasional use which is more than most people will use them. Worth the money.

  • The 1.5 Inch Hydroseal PVC Pipe Fitting may not fit perfectly with certain devices, potentially causing leaks and failures.

Very Useful on in ground sprinkler valve connections

Used these to connect Orbit solenoid controlled sprinkler valves. One of these on the sprinkler side of the valve enables the valve to be replaced in the future without having to cut any pipes.

Pros
  • Used four when I replumbed pool pump. EZ to install and excellent seals. Would buy again.
Cons
  • The white union jetstream design is visually unappealing and may clash with existing plumbing hardware in the space.
