Description of ๐Ÿš— Surwit 15810-RAA-A03 VTEC Solenoid Spool Valve Assembly - Compatible with Honda Accord Element CR-V 2.4L Civic Acura RSX 2.0L - Part# 15810-RAA-A01 15810-PPA-A01

The VTEC system provides the engine with valve timing optimized for both low and high RPM operations. The VTEC solenoid actually allows oil to flow to the internal galleries of the overhead camshaft. This means that the housing of the solenoid is holding back full engine oil pressure. A spool solenoid valve can direct the flow of hydraulic fluid. The valve is made up of spools that rotate or slide to block and open channels in a hydraulic system. This VTEC Solenoid Spool Valve Fits for 2003 - 2011 Honda Element 2.4L, 2002 - 2009 Honda CR-V 2.4L, 2003 - 2007 Honda Accord 2.4L, 2002 - 2006 Acura RSX 2.0L, 2002 - 2005 Honda Civic 2.0L. Customers can find the product you need accurately according to the OE number. OE part number: 917-224, 15810RAAA03, 15810RAAA02, 15810-RAA-A01, 15810PPAA01, 15810PNEG01, 15810-RAA-A03, 917224, 15810-PNE-G01, 15810-RAA-A02. While a VTEC solenoid rarely goes bad, problems with VTEC not engaging properly are extremely common. Most of the time incorrect wiring is to blame, but occasionally something even smaller is the culprit. When a solenoid is bad, may mean the solenoid's plunger is either mechanically stuck in a closed position and therefore always making contact which may eventually cause the starter motor to burn its windings. If your VTEC Solenoid Spool Valve is malfunctioning, some symptoms may occur, such as checking the engine light is on; dirty motor oil; roughness of idling engine; fuel efficiency is reduced. You need to replace your VTEC Solenoid Spool Valve in time. The VTEC Solenoid Spool Valve fits 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11 years.

Excellent quality for a critical part

Considering the car just won't start without this part it certainly was a fantastic price and the delivery with a premium price was very quick.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Incredible price

The gasket was slightly larger than the casting but thought it would work, after 4 hours replacing the part it's leaking needs a part removed and the oil seal replaced with a honda oil seal, so much money to save on this repair, i will let it sit for a few days but i don't think it will settle, it didn't get me after 5 days sat down, removed the part, applied silicone, that didn't help either, removed and replaced part 5 times, bought a new seal from a honda dealer, let's see if it works.

Pros
  • Solid finish
Cons
  • Was damaged

Poor quality - Gasket/O-ring and screen broken

Like most other users I had the same problem with a gasket/O-ring that didn't fit properly with the part to be replaced. After we installed the part and ran the engine to inspect, a small amount of oil dripped out of the part proving the poor quality of the material used for the o-ring/seal. As soon as we removed the part to verify the problem, we found that the gasket was broken and the mesh was broken and flattened. (See attached photos) We ended up buying a new O-ring seal from a Hondaโ€ฆ

Pros
  • understandable even for old
Cons
  • Some minor issues
