This is my third K&N air filter. You are unbelievable. In my 2016 Lexus 350 RX with 6,700 miles my total gas consumption was 23.3 m/g (they didn't have a filter ready for the new model or I would have bought one on day one). I put the filter in 650 km ago. My mileage is now 26.9 m/g! I believe this $52 filter will save me OVER $500 in gas (at $1.95 a gallon) per 50,000 miles. Good income. Trust me they are awesome!

Is buying K&N good for the environment, I would say yes. That's the only positive. I've been driving a Toyota Highlander for a year. My days are pretty much the same, same commutes to work, same days and places to take the kids. Not many changes. Gasoline consumption was always between 21.9 and 23.1. ALWAYS! The dash tells you I'm logging this and proceeding. I change the air filter to a K&N and my gas mileage goes from 19.2 to 20.4! Overrated, I'm a fool, don't be like that

I have used K&N air filters for 30 years and have always been satisfied. What I like is: one-time purchase and very rare cleaning and reloading. Does it bring horsepower, saves gas? I do not think so. There is usually little improvement in acceleration, less hesitation. This is my 3rd Highlander setup and Toyota made more room in the engine bay - this time I just had to open 2 latches, pull out the old one and replace. Dead easy.

The mileage hasn't really increased, but that's because of all the other driving-related variables. Load weight, number of passengers, type of gas and above all driving style. My highs reach about 24 miles per hour. But I will say my lows went from about 14mph to about 16mph. The main advantage is that it costs about the same as buying a Toyota OEM filter.
