Just installed the K&N 33-2963 High Efficiency Air Filter Replacement on my 2013 BMW X1 and it fits like a glove. Installation was pretty easy, just 4 latches. Cheaper than having a BMW technician install one.

K&N air filters are installed all over my house, on all my motorcycles and cars and they all work great! You pay more up front but you never have to buy another filter again, just rinse it out, squirt it with oil and you're good to go. Protects the environment and your money.

I bought this filter for my 2013 X1 and immediately felt the improvement and speed up. The car breathes better and the fuel consumption seems to be a bit better. The filter is washable and reusable, so it pays for itself in the long run. I recommend checking the filter every 10,000 km. Depending on driving conditions and location, it may look clean or dirty. I washed and re-greased mine recently and it took about 45 minutes. After washing and changing the oil, the filter looked like new.

A 2-3 mpg increase was noted on the highway in economy mode. Not sure if I noticed any speed up as the Lucas octane oil booster was added post install and definitely improved. I just installed this on a 2013 528i and it fits like a glove. The only catch was the oil leaked through the sealed bag and into the box via all the stickers etc. But &@%% happens and doesn't reflect the product. A few notes on installation in this model year cars 1) You must remove the stabilizer bar as it will impede access to the filter during installation. I bought this filter for my 2014 X1 xDrive28i hoping that with a looser filter I would hear a little more turbo induction noise. To my disappointment, the turbo sound hardly increased. I can get it to make turbo sucking noise under the right circumstances, but for most daily rides I haven't noticed a difference. mostly correct.
