Use on Finished Wood

I have used this "steel wool" on aged treated wood that needs cleaning with a combination of citrus oil and beeswax. It worked great without all the typical slivers of real steel wool on me, the tree and the ground. I think it's a good replacement for the original and it will last a lot longer.

Expensive but very efficient.

Although 3M makes a lot of money on this product, it works well. It is recommended to sand sealants and polyurethane coatings between coats with 220 grit sandpaper or fine steel wool. I've found 3M 10120 does the same job but is simpler and cleaner (especially fine steel wool deposits). Although I still wipe the surface with a sticky cloth after using synthetic steel wool 10120, I'm not sure if this step is really necessary.

Exactly what I was looking for.

I have used these fretboards on guitar necks, chrome, car parts and plastic boat windshields. They don't leave behind metal filings like thieves' wool. (Important for guitars with pickups (they are magnetic)) Will not scratch chrome or plastic. I took my 2nd pack and am sure I will be back for more. (Note: Always test a small area to see how the material responds to the pad before diving at full speed. It's always best to be safe.
