Worth the price.

Of course it's made in China but it's well made and works great. I have a couple of flycatchers and they work great too, but it's so easy to use I'll move on to the trimming tool now. The inserts are pretty solid and you can buy them in packs of 10 for really good prices. Apart from where it was made I can't write anything negative about it. I would buy another. Maybe 3 inches next time.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Good but not great

Well built and at a good price.

I read so many reviews about it that I hesitated to try it. But I really needed a face mill for the router and am not good enough yet to justify buying a good router at 4 times the price. The end mill cuts mild steel fairly easily and leaves a fairly good finish. A final pass of very shallow cut and high feed rate at low feed yielded exceptional results. I could cut mild steel at any speed and depth.

Best face grinder I've ever used under $200. Period.

Bought as a cheap end mill for my knee mill in Bridgeport. Works surprisingly well! After tamping the head, I managed to achieve an almost mirror-like shine. I really didn't expect it to work so well! A few notes from my experience: 1) You must reset your earbuds before using them. Mine weren't quite flush and initially affected the quality of the finish. 2) The speed on this end mill is very high because it only has 3 flutes. Mine runs at about 2,000 rpm.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Wrinkled packaging

Exceptional finish and inserts so far, only cuts aluminum but easy to use, inserts already screwed in, seems well designed for a Chinese tool. Few Chinese instruments are really good while most are of low quality, but more expensive Chinese instruments can be of good quality. In this case it seems well made and with quality materials. I will update if anything changes. A 3" router is a bit aggressive on an old but well maintained and rebuilt spindle, so make light cuts. I'll probably get a 2"…

1 Rigid Tool for Ultra-Smooth Finishing

Extremely Large Trimming Opportunities! I like the R8's one-piece spindle design. Other designs include 2 or 3 piece assemblies, but when it comes to fairings, 1 piece is stiffer and less reliable. I've pushed 2-3/4 wide 6061-T6 and 2024-T3511 aluminum in one pass with this 3-inch tool. Feed and speed were 2500 rpm and 45 ipm with a small amount of coolant sprayed onto the surface. super smooth. Factory fitted carbides seem to be very good so far. It comes in a large plastic case for physical…

Fantastic face cap for your money.

Arrived out of the box, dressed properly, inserts aligned to the tenth, shape and fit look great. Tested with two different cutters at 68 inches per minute at full mesh and 90 inches per minute at half mesh. It was so quiet I thought he wasn't cutting. It was. Perfect chip formation and reflective surface. I ran the same program with a Kennametal face mill, all other things being equal, there is no difference. Very satisfied, great value for money. Some helpful tips for your success. Before you

. Writing reviews takes time, and time is very valuable for people in the same position as me. I felt like it was one of those products that bought me a few minutes of my time because it worked so well. First, let me say that I'm new to milling and don't always know what to expect (in terms of finish) of each bit. Others wrote that it gives an almost mirror-like surface. I was not disappointed. I make mounts for my wood lathe out of aluminum blocks. The blocks had some rough edges after…
