Use a drill to make holes

Bought this for my new dining room chairs to protect my floor. They are difficult to nail as my chair's wooden leg is strong. What I did was drill small holes in the chairs first before pushing them in with a hammer. They are perfect, not only did they protect my floor but they also stopped making noise when my kids pull and push the chairs! Good quality highly recommended.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Some small things

Scratched floors

We were very disappointed with these models. We bought them for our kitchen chairs and we have a wooden floor. They were difficult to nail to chair legs; They continued to move sideways, bending the nail. I had to give up many because of deformation. When we finally covered all the chair legs it was only 3 days before the nails started going through the felt pads and scratching the floor. We ended up pulling them all out and replacing them with self-adhesive ones.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • So-so

Great product! Best in Furniture Fittings

I have a wooden dining set with a tiled floor in my kitchen. It was always difficult to find something to comfort the chairs on the floor. The little felt pads you buy at the store never stay in place, and I've even bought little chair socks that I had to keep tightening. These nails on felt pads are perfect! I pulled out the existing nails that were on my chairs and stuck them into the existing hole. NO MORE NOISE! It would be so easy for furniture manufacturers to make them the standard! Good

Pros
  • Great design
Cons

Much better than the tacky look for dining room chairs.

They replaced the sticky ones on our dining room chairs. Sticky ones don't tolerate frequent sliding back and forth, and stickiness doesn't attract lint and cat hair! We replaced the sticky ones with these and they're great! After two weeks they are stuck and there is some lint around the pads. If you're attaching them to the base of a chair leg I would suggest making a pilot hole with an awl or thin drill bit to keep them straight while nailing them in place.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are nuances

Initial installation was easy - let's see how long they last

Installation was easy. Removing the old (failed) pads from another supplier was harder than hammering them. The nails are small so I don't think you need to pre-drill holes unless they are in a very thin foot. - Of course, if you're worried, you should pre-drill because it's better to be safe than sorry. I would feel terrible if I broke Bubinga's leg in a $1,000 chair. However, it worked well in cherry. If I can remember, I'll report back in the future how long they last on my uneven stone tile

Seemed like a good idea.

Some issues with these. I have used sticky protectors in the past but since they leave a sticky substance when they need to be replaced I decided to give these a try. However, they are difficult to install without a pilot hole. Nothing is provided or recommended in relation to instructions for doing so, and nothing is included to create a pilot hole. If you step on hard wood, they bend. Hitting too hard or too hard with a hammer will cause the felt to go flat. I suspect this will shorten their…

Outstanding Furniture Hardware Product

We recently moved and our new home has a full vinyl floor. When we researched how to maintain these floors the instructions said we need cushions on heavy furniture as there could be dents or stains on the floor. So I went on the internet and started looking for something that would help with this problem. I found these pad nails and they are wonderful. The movers attached them to the legs of really heavy items before putting the furniture inside. My husband and I put cushions on all of our…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons

Pro tip: pre-drill holes!

My children usually throw themselves on furniture even just trying to sit down and my wooden floor takes a lot of damage from the sofa and chairs sliding around. I've tried different types of sticky felt pads, but none of them held up well. These felt pads with nails are the answer. I've put them on all our sofas, chairs, tables and was even able to put them on our Ikea high chair which has round plastic balls on the legs. The plastic around the felt worries me a bit. it looks like the felt…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • thin

Suitable for furniture fittings for smooth gliding

It's all about likes and dislikes, hopefully more likes than others. First, I like hardwood floors or, where that's impractical, wood laminate floors. Unfortunately, both are prone to scratches from furniture with the wrong legs - usually metal, bare wood, or hard plastic. The first thing I like to do when bringing new furniture into my home is to add felt or carpet pads to the bottom of the legs or legs. This usually works with adhesive pad stickers, but this is not so good for chair legs…

  • Ideal for outdoor activities
