Is it a joke - Cats

I finally thought of a post my cat would use since she is "protected" on the wall. It's not safe, and I've tried putting it back on so many times. One touch from my cat and it flipped which actually startled him so he gave up and it was just more a waste of money. I despair. I inherited the chairs from my grandma and they've been untouched for 40 years, we've moved to a new location, got rid of the sister he destroyed and even bought him a new catwood flat, but of course he has the chair last…

Won't stick to wall

So here's the thing: great idea. Peel and paste? Doesn't it take up floor space? I like it. But the problem is that it just doesn't work. I've repurchased this 3 times now, each time I get more and more finicky cleaning the wall I'm mounting the hooks to. The last time - literally scrub. Sure enough, after a week of constant use by my cats, the hooks came loose and the thing fell off. Eventually I'll have to buy new ones that you screw to the wall. If you're choosing between this and the floor…

Serious design flaws, there are better options

Our cats liked the cardboard material, but the perch has a few fatal flaws. 1) The curve below didn't match our standard baseboards so the plank didn't lay flat against the wall and wasn't very stable. 2) The shape of the board doesn't allow it to turn over after the cats scratch part of it. 3) You will receive a puddle of cardboard chips at the end of the post every day. On the plus side the little hooks are perfect for hanging the PetRageous rectangular scratching post/bed on the wall, which…

I was very disappointed. And then

I couldn't get my cats to use this for my life! Spray catnip, treat by placing your toy on top. Nothing! I was very disappointed. And then, in true feline style, one day they decided it was GREAT and started using it regularly. It hangs very securely on the wall (although I placed it between the skins of two doors where it fits very well, so maybe that explains some of the stability). My cats are 13 and 11 pounds respectively and have not moved. Due to our high baseboards, I hung the scratching

SUCCESS with catnip and repellent sprays

This is the first scratching post my cat has ever used! She ignored hanging, flat and post cat trees, preferring to use stronger chairs, sofas and mattresses. The wall mount concept is great. I finally have hope for my furniture! I installed this scratching post in the middle, not far from her favorite chair. I then sprayed the furniture with an odor-control agent (Claw Withdraw Cat Scratch Spray Deterrent - 4 oz) and sprayed KONG Naturals Catnip Spray for Cats, 1-Fluid ounce onto the scratch…

Good for the cat, bad for the wallet

My cat loves cardboard scratching posts and I recently bought her a Petfusion Jumbo Cat Lounge and found that while she enjoys lounging on it she spends most of her time in it Scratches on the vertical side walls of the cabin. So I decided to buy a vertical cardboard scraper. It was easy to set up, and the moment I got her to dip her claws in, she was hooked. She ripped off her top half in just a week! That's when I realized what it was. REALLY not worth the price. The cardboard itself is not…

20 out of 10, would buy again

I love that they include 4 adhesive hooks to hang this thing on the wall! It's very long for my big cats to stretch out fully. They really like it. I installed it in the normal "J" position until they destroyed it above. Then I turned it upside down so it was in the shape of a lollipop hanging on the wall. This allowed them to get the top they like to scratch that used to be the bottom and increased wear and tear. I then waited until the entire side was scratched and cut the J curve with a…

First scratching post ever used by my wall scratching cat

So I have a wonderful furry little friend. He's an angel, he's adorable and fluffy, and he's a little demon cat that scratches the walls. I tried spraying the walls with repellent, I tried covering them with aluminum foil (it scratched through the foil). I tried splashing water on him (he loves water. He's playing with his bowl of water!). Everything I've tried has been a big failure. I've put all sorts of scratching posts next to the spots where he usually scratches and he doesn't like them…
