Intake Overview - Parts

I knew I had to do something to help my V-8 explorers breathe better. It was easy to install, I'm a mechanic by trade, looks good, sounds good, and the SUV doesn't downshift as often to maintain cruising speed uphill as it used to.

VERY GOOD INTAKE Best Filters

VERY GOOD ENTRY. IT WAS EASY TO INSTALL WITH BASIC TOOLS. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE WELL WRITTEN. AFTER INSTALLATION IT APPEARED TO HAVE BETTER THROTTLE RESPONSE AND PERFORMANCE. HE GROWED LOUDDER WHEN I GROWED HIM TO FULL THROTTLE. I AM SATISFIED WITH TAKING IT.

Worth every penny! in the air intake

Works great on my 2006 Mercury Mountaineer 4.6L 3v V8 and even better with matched SCT what a big difference! It's a little louder than the original but still less noticeable than my Flowmaster Series 50 catback. It's a symphony of engine noise from the front and back of the truck and I love it!

Freakin Sweet Parts

Easy to install. The price is a bit high but I understand that Gen 4 Explorers/Climbers are not the most customizable items. Instant difference in acceleration. I haven't set it up yet, but it works right away. I strongly recommend I put K&N air and oil filters in all my cars.

Installation a bit annoying, nice sound

2007 Explorer Sport Trac Limited V8 setup is pretty good. The instructions were a bit idiotic in the way they show certain things, the bolt that attaches the shield to the inner fender was too short (I used an M6-20 to replace it), and the hoses that replacing the crankcase breather and brake booster breather, had the wrong ID - I think the K&N hoses are 3/8" and my engine side is 1/2", or they were 1/4 and 3/8. In any case, the hoses are one size smaller. The rest is OK. That sounds good; I…
